TAKENAKA Sittard

Introduction of our project team in Sittard, the Netherlands

We at TAKENAKA always strive for innovation and improvement. For us, the word “kaizen”, which roughly translates to improvement, is not just an empty phrase. Therefore, since March 2022, we improved our service for our clients by opening a new workshop and office in Sittard, Netherlands, in order to offer a new and specialized kind of service.
The workshop “TAKENAKA Sittard” is located close to Chemelot industrial park and in the geographic heart of ‘ARRRA’, the largest chemical cluster in the world. This is our working area!

About the Chemelot industrial zone

In the Chemelot industrial zone, more than 150 companies from over 100 countries are executing their business. The idea behind Chemelot industrial park is to bring together the knowledge and skills normally found only in major organizations and to apply these within a flexible community of small and large chemical businesses.

We are proud to be part of this experience, and offer the following works in our workshop:

  • Piping prefabrication
  • Process equipment manufacturing
  • Control and distribution panel manufacturing
  • Customer-specific machine manufacturing
  • Maintenance and repair services
  • Measurement and control services

This is our team

We are specialized in the broad field of processing industries works. Our office team consists of engineers specialized in mechanical works, electrical works, civil works, piping, industrial & process automation, computer-aided engineering, artificial intelligence, and process technology. In 2022 alone, we have started 12 new projects. 3 of them were completed within that year as well. This is a result we are proud of!

Let’s take a look at one of those projects in order to give a better impression of what our workshop and engineering team in Sittard is able to do.

Vertoro – pilot plant to produce the new product Goldilocks ®

“Vertoro aims to speed up the green revolution” – this claim of Vertoro themselves describes the business of our project partner very well. The company is the result of a public-private partnership between Brightlands Chemelot Campus, DSM, Chemelot InSciTe, Maastricht University, and the Eindhoven University of Technology. Their goal is to produce a platform product that is 100% bio-based and will – to put it in their own words – revolutionize the oil industry.
Such goals harmonize well with TAKENAKA’s green policy, and we are proud to be part of such a great project.

We were requested to provide the basic and detailed engineering as well as the execution of the pilot plant. We faced some challenges during our work as the location provided very limited space for us to operate. However, our TAKENAKA Sittard team surpassed the challenges and in the end also the client’s expectations. Finally, we could offer the best quality and professional experience.

Due to a very tight schedule, our team had to find a way to manage and complete most of the project within 5 weeks only – and succeeded!

Within the project, a thin film evaporator that stands 7 meters tall is the eye catcher of the project. In total, 4 evaporators have been constructed by our team, giving it a unique design.
Our client is overly satisfied with the result and is now ready to take it to the next Technology Readiness Level, just like we are ready to take our design and execution to the next level as well. We are looking forward to many other great projects here at Brightlands.
